Volvo 100 brings 100 self-driving cars to China

Volvo rolls out 100 self driving cars on Chinese streets

Volvo is about to roll out on one of the most ambitious projects in self-driving cars area: an experiment in China that will have  100 autonomous vehicles driving on public streets in regular traffic conditions. Of cause one can refer to Google, who holds a record of 1.2 million self-driving car  miles.

However, this would both offer a chance at a large-scale test and give Volvo an enormous footprint in China’s increasingly hot self-driving car industry. Volvo says it’ll spend “coming months” negotiating with Chinese cities to see which ones will offer the clearances and infrastructure to qualify self-driving cars for road use.
